About

Riverdale Elementary School is located in Riverdale, Georgia, a south suburban area of Atlanta near Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. We are one of 68 schools in Clayton County Public School District. Each day we try to live our mission and vision by providing a warm, welcoming, and nurturing environment to support learning in engaging and meaningful ways.

Our school has approximately 700+ students enrolled in preschool through fifth grade.  Riverdale Elementary School contains students in grades Pre-K-5.  It serves to feeder middle schools - Riverdale and Sequoyah.  Our student population is richly diverse, which has helped our school community appreciate the uniqueness of each member. All of us share the desire for our children to be respectful, responsible, and resourceful learners and citizens. Riverdale Elementary School is home for English Language Learners (ELL) students. We have a variety of different languages spoken at Riverdale, with Spanish as our most common foreign language.

For Virtual Learning, all students will be engaged in at-home learning using their digital resources. Students will participate in a Combination of synchronous (live) and asynchronous (self-paced) learning opportunities throughout the week. On Fridays, instructional staff will engage in professional learning, teacher planning and lesson preparation, and other tasks, such as teacher-parent conferences, grading assignments, etc. Schools will develop and communicate a daily and weekly schedule to parents as well as teachers’ office hours. The expectation is that students who are in need of accommodations and special services receive them as specified. The goal is to have each level implement a similar schedule.
